The Hall of Fame is the club's method of recognising outstanding long-term contribution to club. The idea is to recognise members, both Iceni and Iso, who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. 2007 Alia Ayub Alia was the first inductee into the Iceni Hall of Fame. Since the inception of the club, Alia has won the "Most Spirited Player" award every year. She is the kind of player that everyone loves to play with: enthusiastic, committed and driven. She is always there to offer encouragement and a kind word when it's needed most. Alia's contribution to Iceni is also reflected in the work she's put in to building the infrastructure that has allowed Iceni to prosper. As the UKUA Women's Coordinator, she was almost solely responsible for driving the set-up of the Women's Tour in 2004, which lead directly to the formation of Iceni. She has made countless other contributions to the sport over the years also, including helping the development of junior players and sitting on the EFDF, European ultimate's governing body. Aura Mackenzie Aura's induction honours her work in setting up Iceni, as well as her wider work developing women's ultimate, including initiating the organisation of London skills days for beginners and ensuring a women's division in the EUCS series. Aura has always been dedicated to developing new female players and helping improve existing players. Aura also continuously co-captained Iceni for three years from its inception and led the team to National and European championship success. She has put in an extraordinary amount of time doing behind the scenes administration to facilitate the running of the club, as well as representing the views of Iceni and women in general to the UKUA and EFDF. Whilst doing this sometimes frustrating work, she has remained warm, good humoured, supportive and fair. 2008 Anja Haman Anja Haman* first came to London in 2005 from Canada, when Iceni was a fledgling club with lots of fresh talent, but struggling to find its own structure and strategies. Haman is one of the main people who helped Iceni develop into the dominant, enduring and successful club it is today. She provided a huge strategic insight from many years of international playing. She formulated the POD style of play which Iceni took to World Clubs in 2006. She taught players how to mark aggressively, how to play smart, how to defend, how to cut, but most of all, how to WANT to win. In the seasons after Haman joined, Iceni went from strength to strength, becoming the strongest, most progressive women's development team in Europe. It is the work of players like Haman who we have to thank. Maria Cahill Maria was one of the founder members of Iceni. It was her idea, with Aura and Jillaine, to encourage London based women to join a geo-based team, for the overall benefit of London players and also women's ultimate at the national and international level. Maria devoted many hours of her time to supporting new players, coordinating practices, picking squads, developing strategy, organising teams, encouraging university players and running skills sessions. She captained Iceni for three seasons, and took Iceni to Euros and also Perth. She thought nothing of driving long hours to attend practice and was always enthusiastic and always encouraging. She is in no small part responsible for the growth of this club and the success it has achieved.
2009 Meg Nicoll Meg has been a core member of Iceni, Iceni Too and Iso since its inception. She stepped up immediately as captain of Iceni's second team, leading Iceni through several successful domestic seasons as well as leading and organising London skills sessions, tournaments and training and development sessions. Meg has been a patient and encouraging coach of new female talent in London and is responsible for recruiting many new female players. In the lead up to Iceni's participation at the World Club championships in Perth 2006, Meg helped lead an eight-week mental toughness course. This was an invaluable experience and helped the team prepare for a world-class tournament. Over the course of the last five years, she has led and captained the team with a high degree of success. She is well known and much respected for her leadership on and off the field.
